On My Way!: Digital Download, Printable Life Skills Board Game
On My Way! is a board game for students who are preparing for, thinking about, and/or transitioning to adulthood. The game features topics of interest and importance to students as they plan for their future, and gives them opportunities to delve into important topics like Self-Awareness, Self-Acceptance, Friendship, Work Skills, Career Interests, and Life Skills.
Players make their way along the winding highway of life, on their journey to adulthood, starting at “Now” and ending at “The Future.” Along the way, they encounter opportunities, challenges to face, lessons to learn, questions to answer and topics to discuss. In addition to making their way to “The Future,” they fill their score card with tokens (representing life lessons they gather along the way that will serve them well in life).
On My Way! is beneficial and relevant to pre-teens, teens and young adults – middle school, high school, or post-secondary students – with and without disabilities. It’s a great activity for students in functional skills and adult transition programs, early college students, or even younger students who are beginning to think and talk about their future. It can be used in the classroom, in therapeutic settings, counseling/social skills groups, or at home. The game gives players opportunities to learn about themselves and to think about their future, where they see themselves, and what their goals might be.
You will receive a 20-page PDF to download and print out. cut out the pieces as instructed and play the game with groups of up to 6. Instructions are included.
